Program Description

The Little and Big's engage in activities in the community such as playing in the park, fishing, going to the library, or other activities they both enjoy. These types of experiences shared with a special adult friend increases the child's self-confidence, self-esteem, as well as other social skills. Gender specific matches are made based on proximity and interests. Meetings occur twice per month according to volunteer and child's availability.

Eligibility Requirements and Important Information

Ages 6-17*** Ability to commit to a minimum of one year mentoring relationship with a trained and screened volunteer mentor with him/her approximately two times a month. Applications must be submitted by a parent or guardian. must provide Social Security number Parents must be available to maintain regular monthly contact with the case manager
