Program Description

Provides nutrition education and supplemental foods for WIC eligible, pregnant and breast-feeding women, infants, and children under age 5 with health problems which can be helped by an improved diet. Milk, cereals, fruit juice, cheese, eggs, and fortified infant formula are listed on checks provided to clients in all health centers. Checks can be redeemed for food in participating grocery stores. Also provides breast feeding support, includes electric breast pump loan for high-risk participants.
