Eligibility Requirements and Important Information Who can apply? A victim or intervenor, a surviving spouse, parent, child or sibling of a deceased victim. A guardian applying for a minor, child, victim, incompetent person, surviving minor child of a deceased victim, surviving minor siblings of a deceased victim, minors less than 16 years old that were present at the scene of a violent crime, who saw or heard the crime, and suffered psychological or psychiatric injury as a result of the crime. A relatvie applying on behalf of a deceased victim when there is no other source for payment of funeral expenses. Any other person who is dependent for his or her principal support upon a deceased victim or intervenor. All information submitted with this complaint is subject to public inspection pursuant to Chapter 119, Florida Statutes. Whoever knowingly makes a false statement in writing with the intent to mislead a public servant in the performance of his official duty shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 837.06, Florida Statutes. |
