Program Description

The goal is for BIP Group Members to identify violent and abusive behavior used in their life and move toward a non-violent life style. Batterers Intervention Program (BIP): ‣In a series of group sessions, ADAP Counseling Services' domestic violence program addresses alternatives to coercive, controlling, and violent behavior in the home. Our primary goal is to ensure the safety of partners and children through education. This goal is reached through an interactive series of groups, which hold its participants responsible while providing the tools required to prevent future violent behavior. ‣Group Therapy - In a compassionate, but not collusive environment, groups will support participants to change their controlling and violent behavior. The group will challenge the participants to take full responsibility for their actions and not minimize, deny or blame their partner. ‣ADAP offers both men's and women's domestic violence programs. These programs are designed to address each group's special needs in a supportive environment.
