Program Description

The Homework Helper program is FREE to Martin County library patrons and open to students grades K-12. ‣Appointments are available for one-on-one tutoring with a dedicated volunteer specializing in subject areas including math, reading, English, history, and science.

Eligibility Requirements and Important Information

◦ To request an appointment, please fill out form via the "Request a Homework Helper Appointment" button via the website: martin.fl.us/homework-helper-program ◦ Once we receive the form, your child will be matched-up with a volunteer depending on need, branch location, and volunteer availability. Students are required to bring their homework with them to the appointment and parents of children ages 16 and younger are required to stay on the library premises during the appointment. Appointments are typically one (1) hour per week.

Many of the volunteers are former teachers, engineers, and business professionals who want to make a difference in a child's academic success. All volunteers are background checked and appointments can be requested at any of the six (6) library branch locations in the Martin County Library System. WHAT IS THE HOMEWORK HELPER PROGRAM? The Martin County Library System offers 45-minute Homework Help appointments series to help students K-12 with math, reading and English homework.
