Eligibility Requirements and Important Information Florida Driver's License: When You Can Apply Age Type of License Prerequisites ◦15 (First Timers) | Learner's License ‣ Complete a Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) course. Also pass a Knowledge Test, a Vision Test, and a Hearing Test. ◦16+ (Learner's License Holders | Intermediate License ‣Must have held Learner's License for one year. Practice driving for 50 hours (10 hours at night) and pass a Driving Test. ◦18+ (First Timers) | Full-Privileged (Adult) License ‣Complete a Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) course. Also pass a Knowledge Exam, a Vision Test, a Hearing Test, and a Driving Test. ◦18+ (Learner's License Holders) | Full-Privileged (Adult) License ‣Pass a Driving Test. ◦18+ (Intermediate License Holders) | Full-Privileged (Adult) License ‣None. |

Other Useful Information The Division of Driver's Licenses has offices located everywhere throughout the state of Florida. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. until 5p.m. You can find all of the locations along with their contact information at http://www.flhsmv.gov/offices/ . The permit test can also be taken online in Florida in conjunction with a Drug and Alcohol course. Schools such as www.123driving.com can provide this for you. |
