Program Description

Jury service is a necessary civic duty, required by law. The goal of the jury staff is to randomly summons qualified jurors made up of a fair cross section of the community (working individuals, retirees, members of different sexes as well as social backgrounds), to constitute a legal jury for the civil and criminal courts of Martin County. You were randomly selected for jury service from the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles list of licensed drivers and ID holders. You must a be U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age and a legal resident of Martin County. The right to a trial by jury is a fundamental American principle guaranteed by the Constitution. It is the duty of every citizen to serve when called upon to do so. FAILURE TO APPEAR may result in a fine not to exceed $100, imposed by the court. See §.40.23, Fla. Stat. for authorized penalties. Receipt of your summons by any person residing in your household is service upon you.
