Program Description

Stuart Fire Rescue conducts a bi-annual community Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector give away. These are held in the Spring and the Fall to correspond with the time change. When you change your clocks forward or back is also the time that you should be checking the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Please join us at one of our give away events or stop by the Public Safety Complex to pick one up.

Any resident of Martin County who is in need of a smoke detector, but cannot afford one. Any resident who is unable to install a smoke detector.

Other Useful Information

Installation will be done to improve the life and safety of the occupant(s). Delivery will be done by appointment or if after a call a detector is deemed necessary, one will be installed. Installation will be done free of charge by trained Martin County Fire-Rescue personnel. Occupants will be trained in proper testing and care of the detector.
